Obituary of Gerald Lloyd Kennedy

Gerald Lloyd Kennedy was born in Dansville, NY on December 12, 1942 to Lloyd Laverne Kennedy and Vera Mae (Kennell) Kennedy. He married Patricia (Bennett) Kennedy April 3, 1965. It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our father and devoted husband. Surrounded by his loving family he was a man of wisdom, patience and he cherished every moment he spent with loved ones. After graduating from Houghton College he started his career in Red Creek as a history teacher. He continued his education at both Oswego and Syracuse University. He moved to Auburn, NY to finish his career as a Guidance Counselor. He was rarely ever seen without a book, he loved to read and hated broccoli. He was a member of Westminster Church, serving as a Ruling Elder and Chairman of the property committee. He created fond memories for his family with vacations to Europe and trips throughout the U.S. He taught his children valuable life skills through his compassion and positive attitude. He was an avid genealogist sharing his family story with anyone who would listen. He especially liked collecting Civil War artifacts as well as arrowheads. He coached many years of soccer and softball in the Auburn community. Gerald will leave behind his loving wife, Patricia Kennedy; three children: Lisa Kennedy, Gerald L. Kennedy II (Ruth Pysnack) and Heidi Isaia (Kennedy) Vincenzo Isaia; his grandchildren: Jessica Walsh (Kurt Parker), Ryan Walsh, Taylor Walsh Meighan (Shannon), Hailey Pysnack, Jack Kennedy, Emma Kennedy, Carina Isaia, Stefan Isaia; and a great-grandchild, Maeve Meighan. He is also survived by his brother, Steven Kennedy (Kimberly), their three daughters, his late sister Kathy's two daughters.
